Mark Zimmerman takes on the BT50k on July 16
On Saturday, July 16th, Mark Zimmerman will participate in the BT50k (Buckeye Trail 50km) at Cuyahoga Valley National Park for the benefit of Love & Hope Children's Home in El Salvador.
Specifically, Mark will be raising money with every kilometer he covers on the course, for the purpose of buying a new/gently used Toyota Hilux (or equivalent) heavy-duty 4-door pickup truck for Love & Hope.
The Toyota T100 he is hoping to replace has over 200,000 miles (the odometer stopped working some time ago) and has seen quite a bit of wear and tear during its years of service. It's been in more than one accident, and even driven through a wall! The truck is used every week for grocery shopping, serving meals in the Platanillo Community, taking the kids to the park to ride bikes and scooters, and running errands around San Salvador.
The new truck will cost between $10,000-$12,000, and Love & Hope's driver, Tio Alberto will make every penny count.
Would you be a part of Mark's "team" on July 16th?
